Opportunities for Giving

Did you know that Christ Church Cathedral downtown has a Soup Kitchen and a Clothing Boutique that have served some of our West End neighbors for decades? Always needed is gently-used clothing, especially men’s.
To donate or volunteer, please contact neighbor Rose-Fichara-Eagan: or 860.523.8700 or

Parent Leadership Opportunity

The City of Hartford’s Department of Families, Children, Youth & Recreation  offers The Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) (beginning in January 2018) and other leadership training opportunities.

Seeking parents, grandparents, caretakers or residents who would be interested in participating in the upcoming Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI).  The Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) enables parents to become leading advocates for children.  The cornerstones of the program are respect, validation, and a belief that when the tools of democracy are understood, the public will actively engage in civic life.

Please share with anyone you feel might be a potential candidate.
