Hartford City ID Cards

The City of Hartford is offering municipal ID cards to all residents of Hartford.  ID cards are useful where proof of residency is requested, in accessing City services, including interacting with the Police Department, and becoming an organ and tissue donor.
IDs are valid for two years from date of issuance.  Costs of IDs are $15 for adults 18 through 64 years old and $10 for individuals 17 and younger and 65 and older.
You must apply for an ID card in person. Visit the Downtown Branch of the Hartford Public Library, 500 Main Street, on Monday or Wednesday between 5 and 7:30 PM or on Saturday between 11 AM and 4:30 PM.  You may also apply for an ID at the Town Clerk’s Office in City Hall, 550 Main Street on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 2 and 4 PM, but appointments are required.  Call 1-800-903-5715 or go online to www.hartford.gov/hartfordcityid.
Applicants for IDs must show two proof of identity documents, at least one of which includes photograph and date of birth and a proof of address document, such as a utility bill, pay stub, rental agreement.  Complete lists of acceptable documents may be found at www.hartford.gov/hartfordcityid.  After eligibility is determined, cards are mailed or available for pick-up in 10-15 business days.
