Third Annual Hartford Creative Composition Contest

Third Annual Hartford Creative Composition Contest for students is sponsored by Mothers United Against Violence (MUAV), Step Up/Step Out to End Cultural Violence (SUSO), and The Mark Twain House & Museum.

Hartford through MY Eyes and What Makes Hartford Special to Me are the topics that students may choose for their essays, poems, and art submitted to the third annual Hartford Creative Composition Contest. This year, the Contest has added poetry and artwork as categories.

The sponsors encourage all students in Hartford schools grades 4-12 to enter. Rules for entry are available on the website and in Hartford schools, magnet schools, after-school programs, and at all Hartford Library branches.

Submissions can be made electronically or sent to Beckett Law, 543 Prospect Ave, Hartford, CT. There are three levels for judging:  grades 4-6, grades 7-9, and grades 10-12, and there will cash prizes in each category and a grand prize of $500, awarded at the April 2018 ceremony.
